Encourage 3rd graders to adopt healthy habits, develop emotional skills and become aware of substance abuse prevention

  • METHODOLOGY
1.TEACHING SESSIONS:
  • Healthy Habits: An interactive session on the importance of a balanced diet, exercise and hygiene. 
  • Emotional education: dynamics for the recognition of emotions, the development of empathy and conflict resolution.
  •  Addiction prevention: personalized explanations of the dangers and withdrawal symptoms of certain substances.
2.EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING:
  • Practical workshops: healthy cooking, sports games, relaxation or yoga. 
  • Dramatization: Theatrical production that addresses situations involving emotions or drug use decisions. 
3.CURRICULAR INTEGRATION:
  • Thematic projects: projects that integrate these topics in curricular subjects such as science (healthy nutrition), physical education (exercise) and emotional education (identification of emotions).
  • DEVELOPMENT OF ACTIVITIES



1."Do breathing exercises":

DEVELOPMENT:
Explain the importance of breathing for calm and emotional regulation. Train children in practical abdominal exercises and deep breathing for a few minutes each day. 
EVALUATION:
Make sure children are actively involved during exercise. Ask them how they feel before and after the activity and encourage them to express their feelings and emotions. 

2. "Play educational games":

DEVELOPMENT:
Organize memory games that include healthy eating habits. Create conditions for role play where children participate in activities that promote healthy habits. 
EVALUATION:
During play, observe children’s ability to identify foods and associate them with health benefits. Evaluate the understanding and use of healthy behaviors in role play. 

3."Increase in school garden":

DEVELOPMENT:
Allocate the area to raise other vegetables / fruits in children. Provide information on the benefits of food and vegetation. 
EVALUATION:
Monitor children’s participation and interest in gardening. Ask about the plant growth process and how it relates to nutrition. 

4."Join the conversation and discussion":

DEVELOPMENT:
Facilitate healthy discussions about your body care, the importance of exercise and how to manage your emotions. Encourage active participation and exchange of ideas among children. 
EVALUATION:
Evaluate your ability to participate in discussions, build arguments, express your views, and listen to the views of others. 

5. "Follow active participation":

DEVELOPMENT: 
Participation, interaction with peers, understanding of concepts and respect for others. 
ASSESSMENT: 
Use a checklist to record participation and attitudes during activities.

Evaluation criteria: Participation, interaction with peers, understanding of concepts and respect for others.

Evaluation Tools: Use observation lists to record the degree of participation and attitudes shown during the activities.


2.Receive Feedback and Reflect:

Continuous Evaluation: Invite children to reflect on what they have learned and their emotions during the activities.

Record: Take notes of these reflections to understand your understanding and personal experiences.


3.Evaluate Collaborative Projects:

Evaluation criteria: Team participation, creativity in the development of materials and understanding of the topic addressed.

Evaluation Tools: We will use specific rubrics to evaluate collaborative projects, considering aspects such as originality, collaboration and presentation of the final work, always taking into account the abilities of students.
